Please Report Receipt of any Unsolicited Packages of Seeds

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) has issued a warning about seeds that could be dangerous to the environment.

VDACS reported that some Virginia residents have received packages in the mail they didn’t order, containing seeds that appear to have originated from China. It’s not clear what types of seeds are in the packages, but they could be invasive plant species. The packages may have Chinese writing on them. In the event of receiving a delivery do not plant them, throw them away, burn, flush or compost them. They need to be sent to the USDA.
